On Saturday 2nd October 2010, the Gibraltar Taekwondo Association competed at the Scottish International Open Poomsae “Patterns” Championships held in Grangemouth, Scotland, UK.
The Event was organised by Master David Bailey 7th Dan. International Referee and Great Britain’s Poomsae Judges Director Grand Master TW Shin 8th Dan, was present at the event co-ordinating the judges scoring.
Over 300 players from all over England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland competed at said event. This included the team from Great Britain whom will be taking part at the forthcoming World Championships in Uzbekistan.
Our players had an outstanding performance and as a result, the BTCB Poomsae Committee and National Team Head Coach of Great Britain Master Gemma Biescas 6th Dan, has invited the Gibraltar Team to participate at the next UK National Poomsae Championships. She made particular mention to Dana Garcia, Lorena Garcia and Alexandra Lara. Master Derek Summer 6th Dan, UK Poomsae Chairman accompanied Master Gemma Biescas.

We would like to mention that 2 weeks prior to the Championships, Angie Bailey had competed in the Seoul Poomsae Open in South Korea and won Bronze in her division of Class A – 1st Masters Female.
Additionally we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate
Grand Master Shin who won Gold at the World Poomsae Championships held
at Uzbekistan October 2010.
