Local Taekwondo athlete, Alex Trinidad aged 16 obtained pole position following his participation at Fuengirola contesting the Andalusian Individual League Championship.

Alex, a member of the Gibraltar Taekwondo Association is currently taking part in the Andalusian Individual League Championship with competitions held regularly in different cities in Andalusia. There are 110 competitors from 20 different clubs taking part in the championship.

On the 3rd of March 2007, Alex contested the event held in Fuengirola in the 68 Kg category where he won by knock-out thus achieving his first pole position.

The Gibraltar Taekwondo Association's Edward and Ernest Garcia, expressed to Gibsport the satisfaction of Alex's success and highlighted the fact that he will be in for a tough competition for there are very good Taekwondo competitors throughout Andalusia.

However, he thinks Alex will put on a very good show as he improves with every contest under his belt.
